About Us

Sunset Smash was founded in 2023 by Noah Zaret and Dylan Walsh after they set out to create the perfect smash burger, combining everything they loved from across Los Angeles into something familiar but better. What started as a summer passion project, testing recipes in their parents’ kitchens, quickly turned into a full-time operation after building major hype from a small pop-up on Sunset Boulevard in Pacific Palisades.

After early success, they reinvested everything into a food truck and continued growing the brand, even pushing through major setbacks after losing both their homes and truck in the fires. Their resilience, along with giving back by providing meals to first responders, helped define what Sunset Smash stands for today. Now based in Brentwood, they continue serving across LA through catering, events, and daily operations, staying true to quality, consistency, and flavor.

As the brand expanded, Jack Schwartz, a fellow Pali High alum, connected with Noah and Dylan to help scale the concept. A 21-year-old UCLA student and serial entrepreneur, Jack brought his expertise in marketing and growth from MyPlots, which has grown to over 900,000 users. In 2026, he launched the Beverly Hills location as a franchise, bringing Sunset Smash into one of the most competitive food markets in Los Angeles.

To help lead the expansion, Jack brought on his best friend, Lucas Scheerer, who he met in second grade. Lucas had already spent over a year and a half working on the original food truck, becoming a key part of the operation through consistency, work ethic, and attention to detail. After proving himself on the truck, he worked his way up into the full-time manager role of the Beverly Hills location, where he now oversees day-to-day operations and helps maintain the same quality and energy that built Sunset Smash from the start.

After working on the truck for over a year and a half and proving himself as a key part of the team, Lucas stepped into a full-time manager role. Together, they focus on scaling the brand, maintaining quality, and building Sunset Smash into a dominant late-night food spot in Los Angeles.
